Hintertux Park Opening Returns from October 3-5, 2025
Top riders, amateurs, scene idols, industry insiders, and winter sports enthusiasts once again come together to kick off the winter season at the Hintertux Park Opening. The first park opening of the season brings them all to the Tux Valley – for the 21st time in a row. In 2025, in addition to the proven program highlights, a new competition for freeskiers will be included, joining the snowboarders on the scene.
At the heart of the event is Betterpark Hintertux. After its summer break, Wille Kaufmann and his crew will shape the park to perfection as usual. One thing is certain: the jumps, rails and various lines appeal to both pro riders and freestyle beginners – whether on one board or two. Betterpark Hintertux runs on its own schedule – it opens early autumn and goes into hibernation by the end of November. It then reopens in April, extending the freestyle season for snowboarders and freeskiers all the way into June.
Werni´s Transfer Games by Quiksilver
Zillertal local and pro rider Werni Stock once again hosts “Werni’s Transfer Games by Quiksilver”. Style, airtime, and creativity ae the name of the game for the season’s very first jump session. It’s all about teams showcasing stylish transfers, ideally synchronously and perfectly executed.

ROCK A RAIL – GET YOUR SPOT
Big news for 2025: Metal Battle becomes Rock A Rail! After four years of awesome rail events hosted by the SANE! Crews, the Metal Battle officially turns into a Rock A Rail contest and marks the kick-off the Rock A Rail Tour 2025! The very first rail contest of the season offers a qualification at Betterpark open for everybody. The best riders of the qualification will make it to the Rock A Rail finals held on Saturday at the valley station.

BETTERPARK HINTERTUX
Since two decades Betterpark high up on Hintertux glacier is the first choice for riders from all over the world to start into the new winter season in early autumn. Betterpark Hintertux is known for offering lines and features for all riding levels, freestylers – no matter if beginner, advanced or pro – will have fun at the park. Wille Kaufmann and his team provide an ever-changing setup until early December, including a Halfpipe.
Kids Shred by Gigi
The Kids Shred is a long-standing tradition at the Opening. Hosted by Slash Snowboards and the legend itself, Gigi Rüf. The man himself with the help of Ästhetiker-veteran Steve Gruber will take over the coaching role and assist the kids. Photographer Markus “Fischi” Fischer captures these unforgettable moments. The enthusiasm and the motivation of the little ones is truly inspiring, the future of the sport is in good hands. Register now for an unforgettable weekend for your little one(s).
CANARY CARTELPLAYGROUND SESSION
The Canary Cartel Playground Session is back, going down on Sunday noon directly in front of Fernerhaus. Everybody is welcome to hit the features to enjoy the last Opening day together with a fun and playful session. Your chance to win Burger vouchers for the restaurant nearby.
Live in CONCERT - SEMPRE CAOZ
With their band SEMPRE CAOZ, four friends from Tyrol have developed from a small punk attraction into a rock band over the years. With their performances at home and abroad, they are known for their energetic shows. Dirty guitars, smashed drums, powerful bass and screaming vocals are just a few facets of Semper Caoz. In 2023 the band released there album DUST. A self-written and produced production during the pandemic. You can hear a varied songwriting, whereby the focus for the Alternative Rock genre has not been lost from sight A little dark but very focused, they aim to express their feelings from this time. Friday night is Movie Premiere Night. The Tux Centers becomes a cinema for one evening with the latest snowboard movies. Movies will be announced shortly.
