Reunion on the Mountain: At the Hintertux Park Opening 2025, Snowboarders and Freeskiers Celebrate the Start of the Season Together
The Hintertux Park Opening 2025 took place successfully from October 3rd to 5th, 2025. The first snowpark opening of the season on the Hintertux Glacier has been a fixture on the freestyle community's calendar for 21 years, and this year was no exception. Riders, industry representatives, media, and winter sports enthusiasts came together once again to kick off the new winter season in perfect park and glacier conditions. A true hot spot for the international scene at the start of the season.
Werni´s Transfer Games by Quiksilver
Werni’s Transfer Games by Quiksilver – Zillertal local Werni Stock once again hosted Werni’s Transfer Games at Betterpark Hintertux. Riders competed in teams. A star-studded lineup of international top riders took on the big jump with various transfer options, among them superstar Torstein Horgmo (NOR), fellow countrymen Ståle Sandbech and Fridtjof “Fridge” Tischendorf, as well as up-and-coming riders like Dima Luchkin (UKR) and Kuba Hrones (CZE). The session focused on style and airtime, best executed as a team. In perfect weather and snow conditions, the Norwegians claimed two of the awards. Host Werni Stock also got to celebrate an award win with Nick Pünther (SUI).

Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour 2025 presented by Snowfest – The 2025 Rock A Rail Ski & Snowboard Tour kicked off in Hintertux, the first of five European stops this fall. Rock A Rail stands for urban street style at a world-class level, featuring creative and challenging setups. For the first time ever, freeskiers also joined the Opening, a true premiere! After an open qualification round on Friday in the Betterpark, the big show took place on Saturday at the valley station. It was the first test for the brand-new setup with various features, which passed its trial by fire with flying colors. A colorful mix of riders from 16 countries competed. All of them, on one board or two, delivered a true fireworks display of tricks that thrilled the large crowd in attendance. Among the snowboarders, 14-year-old Marie Kuhlmann (GER) and Niek van der Velden (NED) claimed the top spots. At the freeski debut, Alais Develay (FRA) and Stefano Gallina (ITA) took home the titles.

BETTERPARK HINTERTUX
Since two decades Betterpark high up on Hintertux glacier is the first choice for riders from all over the world to start into the new winter season in early autumn. Betterpark Hintertux is known for offering lines and features for all riding levels, freestylers – no matter if beginner, advanced or pro – will have fun at the park. Wille Kaufmann and his team provide an ever-changing setup until early December, including a Halfpipe.
Kids Shred by Gigi
The Kids Shred is a long-standing tradition at the Opening. Hosted by Slash Snowboards and the legend itself, Gigi Rüf. The man himself with the help of Ästhetiker-veteran Steve Gruber will take over the coaching role and assist the kids. Photographer Markus “Fischi” Fischer captures these unforgettable moments. CANARY CARTELPLAYGROUND SESSION
The Canary Cartel Playground Session is back, going down on Sunday noon directly in front of Fernerhaus. Everybody is welcome to hit the features to enjoy the last Opening day together with a fun and playful session. Your chance to win Burger vouchers for the restaurant nearby.
Live in CONCERT - SEMPRE CAOZ
With their band SEMPRE CAOZ, four friends from Tyrol have developed from a small punk attraction into a rock band over the years. With their performances at home and abroad, they are known for their energetic shows. Dirty guitars, smashed drums, powerful bass and screaming vocals are just a few facets of Semper Caoz. In 2023 the band released there album DUST. A self-written and produced production during the pandemic. You can hear a varied songwriting, whereby the focus for the Alternative Rock genre has not been lost from sight A little dark but very focused, they aim to express their feelings from this time.
